Monica's clients have come to her through word of mouth, mostly, and at times she has pursued public works because of their particular significance. She works in the medium that most lends itself to the project. Generally bigger pieces are done in oils and smaller pieces can be watercolor, pen and ink, pastel, charcoal or any combination. Often in the case of a commission, the request will require a specific medium as in the cookbook that was done to honor a friend. These drawings were all done in pen and ink. Some of these can be seen on the website. Some of these drawings were later developed into pastel pieces.

The commission process generally begins with photographs and access to the sight if for instance it is a house portrait she would photograph the house in order to work on the composition for the completed work. She then completes a detailed drawing where she works out composition and color palette. When that step is completed to her satisfaction she then goes to the sight to complete the work in good daylight.

This website is new to Monica and she will learn how to best communicate with you, her public. She is very eager to receive communication concerning your response to her work. Please let her know if you would like to be included in any mailings or further communications concerning exhibitions and the like. She is working on a number of projects at this time and would like to keep you updated about their progress. New work will be added to this site continuously.
